Local ingredients all cooked from fresh
We offer a lunch & dinner menu which includes our traditional pub classics. In addition, we offer a daily special which always includes a couple of vegetarian options.  At lunchtime we offer sandwiches and lite bites in addition to the full menu, all of which can be found on the chalk board in the bar.

We only use fresh produce; our meat is sourced from a local farmer / butcher and delivered fresh to the pub. Our fish comes from a traditonal fishmonger in Melton Mowbray and vegetables are delivered from a local producer / wholesaler. We pride ourselves in producing freshly prepared handmade meals in our own kitchen to the highest quality standards and remember to leave room for our legendary deserts.

Here are some examples of our pub classics that can be found on a daily basis but we offer many more dishes than are featured. High chairs are available if you are dining with young children.
  1. Classic Cheeseburger
    Always a popular choice, our succulent hand made burger is prepared using quality minced beef, dried mustard, ketchup, finely minced onions and seasoning. Served with handmade chips & salad.
  2. Pie of the Day
    Our pies vary on a daily basis. They are always filled with delicious seasonal ingredients and topped with handmade shortcrust pastry. Served with salad and handmade chips. If you like extra gravy just ask when you order.
  3. Lasagne
    Before pulling together this Italian classic, the minced beef is slowly braised with Italian herbs, garlic, tomatoes and onions. This classic layered pasta is topped with a traditional bechamel sauce. Served with handmade chips and salad.
  4. fish and Chips
    A traditional national dish of Great Britain, our fresh fish is coated in handmade beer batter before deep frying to ensure a crispy finish. We serve this with a choice of garden or mushy peas and handmade chips.
  5. Gammon Steak
    Always a firm favourite and a great alternative to steak. Our gammon steak comes with a choice of egg or pineapple and is grilled to your liking. Served with peas and handmade chips.
  6. Vegetarian Options
    Spinach & ricotta tortellini in a garlic and herb sauce, served with salad or roasted mediterranean vegetable tarte tatin served with a salad are two of our most popular dishes. Options change daily.
Restaurant, private dining & party food
While many of our guests enjoy meals in the more relaxed atmosphere of the bar, the restaurant offers a more formal dining experience. We can arrange seating for an intimate meal for two through to larger parties celebrating a special occasion. Just let us know when you book your table.

Our private dining room is available for a dinner party of up to twelve people if you would like to make your evening extra special.

A full buffet menu is available should you wish to book either room for a party. We also supply handmade wedding or birthday cakes as part of the service.
Guest Ales & Wines
We always have a guest ale on the bar which is changed weekly and work with local brewers to offer beers to complement our regular selection. 

Our regular ales include:
London Pride - Premium Ale - 4.1% ABV
Doombar - Amber Ale 4.3% ABV
Pedigree - Pale Ale 4.5% ABV
Esterella and Carling lagers, Stowford Press cider, Guiness Extra Cold with the usual selection of spirits and soft drinks.
